Volunteers and interns are more than an extra set of hands. They recharge our energy, fill our cups, and allow our agency to support staff that is not covered by programs or grants.

During this summer, we had the pleasure of having Isabella Cobb interning with us; she invested 170 hrs. (approximately $6,715 in value) of her time to learn about our agency, explore career paths, and gain skills that otherwise would be hard to acquire by attending college alone.

“I have been interning here through the summer, and in just two months I have learned so much. Everyone here is incredibly nice. Everyone immediately started treating me like a co-worker who had been here for years, which not only made me excited to get here every day, but also meant that I was always comfortable asking for help, or for more information, or even more projects when I wanted something new to work on.

I came into this internship just knowing what I was passionate about, but I had no idea where I could see myself ending up in five or ten years. But because of everything I was able to learn and help with here, I have such a better understanding of where I want to end up.

I would like to take this opportunity to extend gratitude to this entire organization.

Interning at Mothers and Babies this summer was such an incredible opportunity that will benefit me throughout the rest of my educational journey, and beyond. My experience was also only amplified by the kindness of the entire staff since my first day here.

Fall 2026 Opportunities

For Fall 2026, we are expecting 5 more interns from BU to support Dev & Marketing and HR (480 VolHrs with an estimated $18,960 value).

During September, we have the 9/11 United Way Day of Giving to help us with our Clothing Closet and Dock Revamp. Board members are warmly invited to participate alongside staff and volunteers in these initiatives—whether by volunteering, supporting with outreach, or helping welcome and guide our volunteers.
