It Takes a Village to Raise a Child…
To many, We Are Their Village
For more than 30 years, Mothers & Babies Perinatal Network has worked to connect and support families throughout our region. From education and parenting resources to advice and assistance with health insurance.
In 1986, Gov. Mario Cuomo issued a charge to “reduce the incidence of infant mortality in New York State” because of its alarming 12.8 infant death rate, higher than the national average. Mothers and Babies Perinatal Network began as an informal Coalition through the vision of Dr. Raj Dave in 1989, and incorporated in 1995.
Over the past three decades, we have expanded partnerships, strengthened programs, launched Family Resource Centers, and just lately we are partnering with the Social Care Network for the new 1115 Waiver program where we are providing health related needs to the Medicaid population.
In collaboration with other members of the Association of Perinatal Networks, we’ve contributed reduce the infant mortality rate in New York State to 4.3% (2023), but since the death of any infant is truly tragic, our work remains essential and our mission more relevant than ever.
Our Mission
To improve pregnancy and birth outcomes and support the health and development of individuals and families.
